Parallel Action
One of the first projects we worked on in this class was parallel action. He gave us about 16-20 different shots and we had to edit them together to make a mini movie. Mine wasn't the best but it was our first project so I thought it was pretty darn good. None of us were familiar with the sight we had to edit with but we all got the hang of it.
13 shots
Next up was the 13 shots. We had to learn how to use the cameras and take 13 different shots. My shots made me look like a professional videographer. I thought I was a pro. I like filming and using cameras. They are pretty nice devices.
Radio Commercial
Then we had a radio commercial. We had to make our own product and our own commercial. Its was pretty fun to say the least. I had advertised the Zach7. Its a baseball bat that guarantees a home run. I thought that project was pretty fun. This class is my favorite class of the day. It allows me to see what making videos is like, its fun in this class and i love it. Mr. Holt is a great teacher. But the Zach7 was a bat that almost guaranteed a NUKE over the fence. It would smack the ball so far. The bat would read the speed of the pitch and how fast you needed to swing. It would always hit the ball.
I had recently took the practice ACT. It was a pretty hard test. I didn't read any of the science questions after the first two. Im not a sciencey guy.
Video Commercial
I made a video commercial about magic glasses. They show you the Arc you need to put on the ball to make it from any range. It was a pretty cheesy commercial but i thought it came out good. It was a super fun commercial to make. I wrestle for the High School team, but i wont pass up a chance to shoot some hoops. I love playing basketball, just not competitively. I'm pretty bad at it but it's still a fun sport to play. My layup game is fire tho. I can 360 layup and everything. But anything past the block i can't make. I'm not good at shooting. But the glasses made me Curry. I was pretty good with them on.
PSA
I finally did my first PSA. I'm not a big fan of it because my partner and I messed up the first time, so we cut the acting clips and made a black screen with words on it. It still was a pretty fun to work on though. We did a PSA on Stay In School. We had a homeless guy holding a sign that said, “Need money, please help.” Overall it was a pretty good experience and I'm glad my partner and i did that topic and got a good grade. It was a pretty good psa and I had such a good time making it. I watched a lot of videos to get ideas and they just made me sad. There was a guy walking around with $1 bills taped to his body and this business guy took $11 off of him. Soon after this woman who had a Louis Vaton bag started taking $14 dollars, so it could help pay for her nail appointment. The guy finally passed a homeless man later on, and he took $2 just so other homeless people could eat. And the guy asked him if he had anything to say and he told the camera “Stay in school, or you will end up like me.” Which i thought was really sad.
Christmas Break 2019
This Christmas break 2019 I had a lot of fun. I went to Colorado to hang out with my family. It was an amazing time. The only downside was the 2.5 feet of snow that had not melted. I got some Clemson gear, some Champion, air pods case, socks. We ate some god awful Chinese food. Then I pranked my mother and she got mad. I told her I put a penny in the bottle after i put the lid on. When I opened it I told her to look in, and when she did, I squeezed the bottle as hard as I could. She didn't think it was as funny as I did. Then we came home on Christmas day and i got air pods, shoes, clone, a new phone, socks, a TV, a bunch of candy and some cologne. Then i cleaned my room and rearranged it. That took me about an hour and a half because I had to take my bed apart, move all my furniture, and then I had to do some measuring because my bed was to big for the spot I wanted to put it in. But that was all I did over Christmas break.
PSA 2
For my second PSA, my friend and I did a psa on respecting your parents. In the video it basically shows his mom trying to talk to him and he tells her to leave him alone. Then she calls him and he yells at her. And she then passes away and we, and he's at school. Then we had it cut to a scene where he is crying in his car. The point of this PSA was to show that you should respect your parents, and that you should spend as much time with them as you can cause you don't know when they will be gone. Even if it's a simple “Hello” text or a trip to get milk from the store, you should go and spend time with your parents. Your parents for so much for you and you should respect them and love them no matter what.
Storytelling without Words
For this project we had to tell a story with only music and no words. I told a story of how much Championships our school has. Our school has a total of 25 State Championships. We have had a 3 peat in basketball. 2011, 2012, 2013. Our school has a history of wrestling, and then track chips. But we are working on getting a few for football. I did this topic because I'm a super big fan of sports, and I'm the most athletic person I know. Im prolly the biggest sports fan in all of our school. I love sports. I love watching my friends play basketball and win. I wrestle, and this year our team has a very high shot on winning it depending on if we get a lot of people to go. Basketball, our girls have a super good team to win state. Our boys, they are getting there.
